Description:
At Barvick Burn, where the Highlands rise, lies what is probably the oldest working distillery in Scotland. The Glenturret Distillery was first documented in 1763. However, whisky was likely being distilled on the site many years before that. The small distillery's low, whitewashed buildings house only two copper stills, along with wooden washbacks and a historic malt mill. Production methods are largely the same as they were 250 years ago. Above all: with hand and heart.
With the Distillers Dram Edition No. 2, Glenturret pays tribute to the people who shape the whisky. This limited-edition release celebrates two key figures at the distillery: Kenny Smith and Robert Paterson, whose combined 30 years of dedication encompass the entire whisky-making process. Four sherry-seasoned casks form the basis of a whisky of depth and harmony, bringing together dried fruit and toffee apple, orange peel, dark syrup, sweet spices, and gentle wood smoke.
